Foundry Club, a Dallas-based entrepreneurial club, launched its first international location in Beijing, China on October 20, 2015 with the support of DFW Excellerator. The expansion was celebrated with an opening reception in Beijing and attended by Chinese and American investors, businesses and dignitaries.
Established in 2012, Foundry Club’s mission is to be a catalyst for other businesses’ success by providing access to workspace, capital, business services, resources and community. Foundry Club’s expansion to Beijing benefits its members and local communities in the United States and China by providing these resources on an international scale. The provision of Foundry Club locations allow members to have access to the community, workspace and resources while traveling within the United States and China.
The launch in Beijing also allows Foundry Club to position itself as an example of how rapid global growth may be accomplished through its resources, especially its partnership with DFW EXcellerator.
DFW Excellerator is the only cross-border business incubator and technology accelerator in North Texas. It focuses on helping high growth companies expand globally through technology transfer, joint venture, and investment opportunities. Early in 2015 DFW Excellerator moved its location from Richardson, Texas to Foundry Club at Mockingbird Station in Dallas, Texas. This spawned a new relationship between the two companies that includes investment and international growth opportunities for its members.
Entrepreneurship is booming in China, making it the ideal country for Foundry Club to begin its international venture. The Chinese government is introducing preferential tax policies, social security subsidies and easier business registration procedures, and other incentives to encourage entrepreneurship. This also translates to opportunities for foreign investors, who often may receive substantial tax breaks among other motivations. All are in efforts to stimulate the Chinese economy and create more jobs.
The Foundry Club – Beijing site is 17,000 square feet and located in a newly developed sector of Beijing. It is nestled between urban restaurants and businesses, and is a short distance from the city’s anticipated second international airport. Foundry Club members in the United States who are accustomed to the “work hard and play hard” atmosphere will find a similar lifestyle at the Beijing site.
Foundry Club’s plans are to continue development in the United States and China.
